A lot of progress on the Joystick entity. After refactoring the code that handles the visual movements of it, I was better able to code events.

It took some time to figure out how I wanted to frame the problem. I needed the joystick to run code to update the view of what direction the user was moving the stick in. After talking it over with another member of the team, the concept of “hotzones” was introduced.

It turned out that the “MovingDragEventHandler” class I made was the perfect place to put the code to process events. All I had to do was register events via in the Joystick entity class.
