Dev blog: Manual testing is essential

I’m a huge proponent of automated testing.  It’s something I originally chafed at but eventually converted to, since, if you do it like I do, it’s actually less work than not testing.

But you gotta manual test.  Case in point, I wired up the Buy Screen, and things look…  Problematic.

Spent waaay more time than I wanted to just whipping up icons and stuff just to have placeholders on screen, only to find that everything is displaying way too far off to the side, and other issues.


Which is why it’s really good to have some way to play around with your changes, and…  yeah.  Always manually test.

So, I’ll be figuring that one out.  May end up coding a test screen that I can use to test specific UI entities when I make them.
